Hand turned from English oak wood, this bowl features a modern design with straight edges. Considered as one of the finest woods to work with, oak is extremly strong and durable, and boasts an attractive grain. Finished with an ancient Japanese technique called Yakisugi on the exterior, which involves using a 2000 degree flame to cause instant charring on the surface of the wood, before it is removed with an abrasive to reveal the grain hidden underneath. The interior is left untouched to allow for the warmth of the oak to shine through.
