Hand turned from English ash wood, this vessel features a charred live edge and sculptural form, with waxed cotton thread stitched repairs. Ash is a stong, dense wood and has a lovely straight grain. Finished with an ancient Japanese technique called Yakisugi on both the interior and exterior, which involves using a 2000 degree flame to cause instant charring on the surface of the wood, before it is removed with an abrasive to reveal the grain hidden underneath.

This bowl measures 21cm wide, 19.5cm tall and 17cm deep.
