ABOUT

As an independent woodturner I spend hours of my day on the lathe turning wood and filling up the room with shavings. I discovered woodturning completely by accident after buying a second hand lathe, and since then I've not stopped.

Everything on my site is hand turned, sanded smooth, and finished by myself. Each bowl is individually handmade in my little studio.

The wood I use is bought from someone widely used and respected amongst the woodturning community. He has a wide variety, from cherry, to oak, to sweet chestnut, allowing me to handpick each piece. When choosing what wood to use, I envisage the bowl shape, inspect the wood, and decide how's best to proceed to waste as little wood as possible.

As a big fan of how warped wood looks, the majority of my work is intentionally warped slightly to give the piece character.
